Sinéad Anae
New York City-based emerging creative
Hi there! My name is Sinéad and I am a queer + Pacific Islander creative.
Being based in a global nexus of art, passion, and creativity, I find inspiration in the everyday workings of my surroundings. Whether it be photography, illustration, or writing, I create work that is raw, honest, and vulnerable. I draw inspiration from the organic beauty of quotidian routines, the way that our stories and backgrounds intertwine with one another, and how we interact with each other, our environment, and our own sense of self. I am drawn to capturing people’s personalities and authentic beautiful moments of life, and I aim to capture my work through an anthropological lens. I hope to use art to elevate traditionally unheard voices, tell moving stories, and to shine light on perspectives that have been ignored for too long.
I’m originally from San Francisco, but am based in NYC. I have been living on Oahu, HI for the past 5 months quarantining due to the COVID-19. While here, I have been delving into my own Hawaiian roots and creating pieces of art honoring my ancestors, land, and culture. I currently am in my last year at NYU studying Media, Culture, and Communication.
Some things I enjoy: traveling, playing and listening to music, coffee, yoga, street photography, and cooking.
Take a look, wander around, stay as long as you’d like!
